Texting and driving are some of the most dangerous things that people do.
Unfortunately, the problem is very common and many people continue to text while driving.
To encourage people to stop texting and driving, we are offering (1) $1,000 scholarship to the student who writes the best essay on why texting and driving are so dangerous and their best advice to other drivers on the best ways to avoid texting and driving.
To apply, please write an essay discussing why texting while driving is so dangerous.
Please also include details about how you have stopped yourself or a loved one from texting and driving
Essays must be 750-1000 words in length.
Topic: Why texting while driving is so dangerous and ideas on the best practices to avoid texting and driving
In your essay please explore and discuss the following:
- The role of social contract and self-control in texting and driving
- Why texting and driving is so dangerous
- Your best advice to other drives on the best ways to avoid texting and driving.
Applicants must be students accepted or enrolled in a college, trade school, or university as of the start of the Spring 2021 semester.
The essay must be submitted by August 1, 2021. The winner will be selected by August 15, 2021.
